Taskbar calendar dates have the ugly dotted lines

Submitted by .Chris on December 25, 2008 to Annoyance, Usability

When you click the time.date on the taskbar, you get a pop up displaying the calendar as well as an analog clock. The dates have that ugly dotted line around them. This also shows uop when you view the months as well as the years from 1900-2xxxx. Only shows up on dates that you clicked, as well as the current date.

fix them. Not very user friendly.

+1

This isn't specific to the calendar dates; it's the old focus rectangle again.

+1 bye bye focus rectangle

Not "bye bye focus rectangle". It's absolutely essential for people who use the keyboard to navigate interfaces (otherwise you'd have no idea which control was focused). They just need to update the effect, rather than using ugly dotted lines (which haven't changed since Windows 3.1).

They still can just use the current highlight that they have there now... remove te system file that causes these dotted lines

Sure, of course they're useful when your TABbing your way through the interface. But they even show up around the new blueish selection highlights. Can't they tell when an element is clicked with the cursor and thus doesn't need the aiding dotted rectangle?
