When the Window maximizes, the border animates to stretch the screen and fades to a darker tone (which I wonder if it will be implemented.)

The content also resizes to match the windows, I don't think it is quite possible, but fading into white and fading back again is quite ok.

Sorry, that was only a concept video for Longhorn. Maybe they're saving all this stuff for the Midori project. I'd like to see how that unfolds.

Also, I'm surprised tino hasn't put this down yet. Shouldn't be much longer now I'm sure he'll get around to it.

@arayta: what do you mean by tino hasn't put this down?

He'll say it's not a UX quirk then throw a hissy fit, saying how this is so impracticle or some other thing like that. I dunno, just wait until he comments, you'll see.

I always missed a maximize animation in Vista. This looks like not a bad idea.

That would be great to see effect for maximize.

It kinda makes you wish the Windows 7 team would have spent more time reviewing some of those old Longhorn concept videos, and tried to incorporate a little more of that stuff. The saved-searches and dynamic filtering abilities, as well as the graphical eye-candy.
