Due to the stupidity of Long (that's me), all comments on the Windows 7 Taskforce after March has been lost.
As a result of this unfortunate event, a transition to a new backend (the one powering heresanidea.net) is being considered.

Desktop peek should have a jumplist for running and recent gadgets

Submitted by brian.shapiro on December 16, 2008 to Usability

There's no way to bring only a single gadget to the front, and there's no quick way to load a gadget for temporary use.

If you want to work with a single gadget, that may be something like a notes gadget, color picker, a clipboard manager, or calculator, you have to show all of the gadgets. It would be useful to only bring a single gadget to the front to use.

Also, certain gadgets--like a picture puzzle, calculator, or clipboard viewer--you might only want to load for temporary use, and then close. Its currently difficult to do this.

Add a jumplist for the desktop peek button at the end of the taskbar. The jumplist should show 'Running gadgets', 'Recent gadgets', and have a task for viewing other gadgets (currently 'Add gadgets...').

It show also have links to 'Show desktop', 'Switch between windows', and other relevant desktop-oriented functions.
