Restore previous Desktop Gadget and maintaining the gadget positions (build 7000)

User must close all gadget that are display in desktop in order to turn off desktop gadget (sidebar.exe). When User want to use gadgets they have to start from scratch. no way to restore previous gadget

a feature that would restore previous gadget and maintain the positions. Ability to close all gadgets.

yeah. just like the Sidebar tray icon in Vista, which you could exit and open again and it would maintain all the Gadget settings.

Yeah, I'll agree, there should be an interface for this. It could probably be a toggle fly-out menu item from the desktop context menu (ie, do you want to add a gadget? Or turn them off?).

That said, I'm really pleased with how well the gadgets perform on Win7. They were a real resource-suck on Vista.
