UI Inconsistency in Wordpad
Ruler in wordpad is ugly and old, and doesn't fit in with the rest of the ribbon. Also, the gray and the white don't change along with the controls so it's confusing for the user.
Make the ruler fit in with the rest of the UI.

RibbonRuler is needed, and the dark grey replaced with a RibbonBackPanel, so it all remains consistent.
What about the status bar in wordpad and paint? The live-mail one is better.
What do you mean "ugly and old"? Can you make a quick screencap of what you want?
@ sushovande just look at the screenshot he provided. see the ruler. Its old, and ugly, doesnt match the program at all.
I agree. The ruler in paint is quite ugly too. Something like Word07's ruler would be much nicer.
Then again, this is a small app that is just used for basic stuff anyway. I don't want MS concentrating their efforts on a tiny utility.
I wonder why they actually implemented the ribbons; Wordpad is intended to be a lightweight RTF editor, I thought?
So why all these "comfort" functions (wasting screen space)?
may be because its still in the early stages?
It looks better in Windows 7 beta, than the screenshot on this page.
I think it has been fixed.
It has been fixed!
Still the same in 7000
Looks changed to me in 7000

a little, but the ruler is still out of place
+1!
Yes, and I forgot why I voted this down in the past! Sorry!
Mark as fixed?
NO.
its NOT fixed. these people are on something
it's better on 7022 but the "pins" still use the old style
so they fix one part, but not the other. are they messed up
They improved it a little bit but still not looking right.
