Due to the stupidity of Long (that's me), all comments on the Windows 7 Taskforce after March has been lost.

Transparent taskbar on a white background.

Submitted by n49o7 on January 25, 2010 to Aesthetics, Usability

The text and the icons in the taskbar are white. Fine, as long as you don't put aero to full transparent with a white desktop background.

Allow changing all the icons and text that are usually white to black. After all, this is available for cursors...

Or even better, the taskbar should adjust text by getting the RGB / Hue value of the desktop background, much like how it does with the taskbar buttons (e.g firefox is mostly orange, hence its taskbar button has a orange hue) .

I mean if this already part of the taskbar, the text color should adjust accordlingly with the RGB values automatically, then there wouldnt be a problem

+1!

eeeek a white background.
I would get insane. The white on this board already hurts my eyes.

But i do agree with the suggestion(s)

+1. Does it also happen in the program buttons? (if the taskbar is set to show labels?)

n49o7 wrote on January 29, 2010, 2:39pm

@xombie: I can't try that (I have a registry tweak that hides labels, and I don't want to revert back to normal, and reapply the tweak after) but maybe someone else can.

@xombie: I now have labels displayed and yes, it's the same problem (as reported in other submissions too).
