Tab Notifications
Notifications are very disturbing and annoying to most users
they reserve an unnecessary amount of screen space to display a simple information
by representing a notification with a simple tab users will get the desired confirmation or information without being annoyed if the user wish to know more information about a specific notification he/she could drag the tab or press the simple "i" inside the tab to get it.
certain tab notifications will disappear like certain regular notifications
but its great to show a group of notifications as well

but most the time the notification title is the only detail that matters right i mean the rest is just a huge duh..
like when you safely remove a pen drive displaying "safe to remove hardware" is really enough we know its the usb mass storage device we just safely removed and if it said "usb mass storage was safely removed" in the first place it would have been a lot better right? short and sweet
when downloading windows updates it says downloading and installing updates
and in the description it says "click to view more information" which is plain ridiculous
here's another one
the title "you have files waiting to be written to the cd"
the description "to see the file click this baloon"
and another one
title "wireless networks detected"
the description "one or more wireless networks are in the range of this computer to see the list and connect click this message"
well you get the idea...

dragging works too :P
It seems fine as is
but their very annoying
and yet you can disable them
I like the way notifications are done in Live Messenger, when someone logs in etc. That would be a very nice (and unified) way of displaying notifications in windows.
I still prefer though the way it was done in longhorn 4xxx, and how you could view the history etc. Why was that scapped? Never understood that.
Definate +1 from me.

yes but we all need notifications but just don't need them to pop out and bother

i liked that feature too
We dont "need" them, hence they gave us the option to disable them.
they also give the option to disable our firewall, defender and that doesn't mean we don't "need" them
Maybe not as a default, but perhaps an option. I'll admit some times i find them overly large for simple information; such as that I can now disconnect this and that. +1
