Network Connections Properties dialog

Submitted by computerkid on January 2, 2010 to Aesthetics, Legacy

The Network Connections Properties dialog (Local area connection properties) needs to be updated badly. It's a legacy dialog that has components I used to see in Windows 98 when I had my old PC.

Update the dialog, so it follows the UX guidelines. Microsoft, if you created the guidelines, use them!

Dates back to Windows 2000. Windows 98 hat just ONE dialog or ALL network adapters, no separate ones ;) Still +1

Hmm, maybe the dialogs need to like the new notification area dialog.

I have seen worse, but I still agree with updating it. It could be confusing to new users. +1.

I rather suggest a shortcut to your Internet Protocol Version 4/6 screen. I usually access my IP about 4 to 5 times daily and a shortcut would make it allot easier. The LAN Properties screen is simple enough if the client does a little trouble actually figuring out where goes what. Sure we can "Hide" so of the settings but there should be a link where you can differentiate between Category View and classic view.

Changed problem description.

Make bigger, resizable, and remember size. SO MANY dialogs from MS seem like they were designed by proctologists.
