Remember each folder's view settings: Bring it back!

Each folder has different view settings. It's very annnoying then I have to set folder view to prefered every time.

Just bring back this feature.

Personally I really like that every folder finally looks the same. This way I can size/customize one folder and it's automatically applied to every one.
In Vista and XP there *was* this checkbox; but Windows still remembered settings for every single folder which wa sreally annoying.

In previous version of windows I was able to create groups of shortcuts - viewed as icons.
This made screen less cluttered and more organized. I could open "Database" shortcut to "All Users\Programs\Start Menu\Databases" and see icons for short cuts I placed there. In Windows 7 I get an full explorer view of that folder, together with navigation panel and all the files details, instead of icons.
