Make Windows Search fuzzy

Submitted by davidvl on November 10, 2009 to Usability

Sometimes I make a small typo when I quickly want to search for something on my computer. Also, people make typo's when writing emails which makes literal search also a bit uncomfortable.

I mostly use the search bar in the Start Menu.

Make it possible to search fuzzy, either by default or in a accessible optional way (maybe even per-search). It would greatly enhance the searching experience.

now we have to rely on other fuzzy search app launcher like Launchy or Enso to achieve this.. but Windows already have its indexes to search for files, if we can do fuzzy search by simply pressing the start button, wouldn't it be much more intuitive and better?
