Retain generic windows icon type when default program has changed.
When I set WinLivePhotoGallery to be the default for opening my pictures. It changed all the generic icon type to a WLPG icon. If you have noticed, there are different icons for .jpg .png .bmp and .gif. Open "save as in paint" and you'll see th icons
So this is a big problem when you switch default programs. I kinda like the Windows Icons and developers don't really help when they use their own non-aero icons that look like crap and spoil the whole look.
Get the defaulted programs "RealPlayer, WLPG, VLC, etc..." to adopt the Windows Generic Icons for different formats if possible.

Good, I thought it was just me with this problem. I had to go through and manually change icons for all the media types after I set Media Player Classic as the default app.
Changed title from [Retain generic image icon type when default program has changed.] to [Retain generic windows icon type when default program has changed.].
That's the problem of the specific program and it may useful to know which program is associated with the file type so the user can decide what to do (Example: If Photoshop is set as the default program for tiff files the user can see it.)
I would vote for a design guideline for filetype icons so that they still show what program is linked to the file type but that they look more similar.
There can be a defalut icon but with a small tag on them with the program icon. (ie; photoshop)
yes, chris thats a gud idea!
