Due to the stupidity of Long (that's me), all comments on the Windows 7 Taskforce after March has been lost.
As a result of this unfortunate event, a transition to a new backend (the one powering heresanidea.net) is being considered.

Please bring back classic start menu and folder options

Submitted by lavakillu on July 12, 2009 to Aesthetics

One of the first things I do after format (XP) is switch to classic start menu. It's not that I fear change, as I am sure some will suggest...it's just that it is, for me, a better option. In classic menu, I am able to create custom folders ie.., "Multimedia, DVDR, Music"...and manually place shortcuts in those folders. This makes for a MUCH easier navigation and imparts a cleaner look. Also, a manual sort option in folder views would allow me to organize subfolders to my liking...regardless of size, name, date created etc.. just let me freaking slide a folder where I want it to go! Being able to use UXTHEME.DLL patch to enable third party themes would be great as well!

Allow classic start menu options like those in XP
Allow manual sort option for subfolders (turn off snap feature)
Maybe include classic display properties option
Just open the hood on theme options...allow use of 3rd party shell themes
