Due to the stupidity of Long (that's me), all comments on the Windows 7 Taskforce after March has been lost.
As a result of this unfortunate event, a transition to a new backend (the one powering heresanidea.net) is being considered.

Middle Click Peek = Toggle Hide Desktop Icons & Gadgets

Submitted by switch7 on July 4, 2009 to Aesthetics, Usability

On my laptop I often use the hide Desktop Icons and Hide Desktop gadgets options in the Desktop. However, when these options are enabled this renderes the Desktop Peek button useless.

For a more consistant experience, i think that middle button click on the desktop peek box should toggle though Icon & Gadget Visible > Icon Visible > Gadget Visible > Nether Visible.

Then if you quickly peek to the desktop and find everything hidden, a quick mouse button click will reveal what you were after.

I think this is a more natural way to hide the desktop items when not using the peek feature too.

I think this button could be used for more powerful features than that:
