Theme Switching Sound Always Plays on Speakers

Submitted by BraedenP on November 22, 2008 to Annoyance, Bug

If you have headphones or external speakers plugged into an audio jack in a laptop, when switching themes the "tada" sound always plays out of the built-in speakers, even if the current output device is the headphones.

Make the sound play on the current device like everything else.

This is not a UX bug. Delete it.

If you ask me, it shouldn't even play the sound, or at least play a less irritating sound. The "tada" sound sounds old fashioned, plus it's a little to long to play just after selecting a new theme. It should be something shorter, but like I said, probably better for no sound to be played.
