Due to the stupidity of Long (that's me), all comments on the Windows 7 Taskforce after March has been lost.
As a result of this unfortunate event, a transition to a new backend (the one powering heresanidea.net) is being considered.

Legacy network Drive icon

Submitted by Manan on November 17, 2008 to Legacy

The network location icon shown in my Computer is I guess the same that was way back in Windows 95.

Create a new icon.

There seems to be a lot of this in Vista and in 7. Recognizing that this is a very early version, perhaps it is on their agenda to go through the system and weed out all the old dialogues and all the old icons. It escapes me how their UX team could miss this over two generations.

People you suck!
I posted the same mistake in Windows Vista taskforce (Aero Taskforce) and everyone shouted "No! Mine does show a Vista icon" and now you're promoting THIS with +18 and more...

Perhaps they (the UX team) never get disconnected mapped network drives while working at MS. :)

I can't reproduce it here (with build 6801), instead I get the pretty networked drive icon greyed out with a big red X over the bottom-right corner. My STR: make a network drive letter, disconnect the network, open Explorer and go to Computer.

However, any times old icons do appear, they need to be purged. :)

This also happens when you use the 'shared folders' feature in Virtual PC.
