Due to the stupidity of Long (that's me), all comments on the Windows 7 Taskforce after March has been lost.
As a result of this unfortunate event, a transition to a new backend (the one powering heresanidea.net) is being considered.

Power Options Should Not Consider Computer Inactive if Video Is Playing

Submitted by brownbat on June 5, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Bug, Usability

When watching video, especially internet video through Hulu or Netflix, the Power Options will consider the computer not in use, because no input is coming in.

The Power Options should know whether or not video is being watched, and act accordingly.

The user could switch power profiles, but as internet video services gain more and more popularity, it would be a smart development sign if the power options were designed realizing that a computer is not necessarily inactive simply because it is not receiving input.
