Now that's a shame that nobody has taken care of this yet.

Some dialogs haven't changed during five-six version of windows. That's really a shame because the interface lacks of consistency and usability in some areas while in others it is better than the competitors one.

Glass Pies anyone?

@hoopla_punta: Yes they're probably "hot". one opaque part for busy and semi-transparent part for free space :D

Why a pie chart at all?
I'm on the side of Edward Tufte's book - pie charts are a waste of space. That's not even to mention the fact that the info is already there in the "Computer" explorer view.
Now if they could integrate a 2-d view of how space is used, that might actually be really cool.

But in general I agree it's time for a redesign.

A pie chart offers a first glance look at what percentage of space is used or free, so I think we should keep it. Although it does need a redesign. I knew there was something in this dialogue box that needed to be updated, but I could never put my finger on it until now.

I believe they anti-aliased it a bit, but it needs redesigning. Should be 10 minutes' work.

I think the progress bar thing would look quite nice here. Saves space too.

Perhaps User-Quota Integration into the chart wouldn't be so bad.

oh geez Lol. people, choose between a fix between fixing something like lag on desktop (speed or whatever) or even an extra level of 'viewable' colours for ya windows.
that or a revamp on the start orb
choose carefully, no going backs..

..according to this site, more than 5 people out of 10 would opt in for the orb =,=
