Windows Media Player groups albums with same name

Submitted by Indrek on May 19, 2009 to Annoyance, Usability

This problem has existed in WMP since at least 11, if not earlier. If you have multiple albums from different artists with the same name, they're all grouped together in album view. For instance, I have three albums called "1", all from different artists. In album view, only one of them shows up, and when I open it, I get songs from all three albums.
This also affects all the various "Greatest Hits", "Best Of" etc albums.

Edit: added screenshot. Full-size version here:

In album view, use both album name and artist name to group songs, as opposed to just album name.

iTunes doesn't have this problem, I don't know why Microsoft can't do it properly just like iTunes!?
