Expand All Programs in the Start Menu
The All Programs list is limited by the size of the Start Menu. This is a problem because I want to see the whole All Programs list at once without having to scroll. I have a lot of programs installed, and a very lean Start Menu - I only put on there what I actually use. At the moment I put everything into submenus to make the All Programs list shorter, and that's a painful process too becaues of the limited view-size. Even when organised some of the submenus are too long.
It would be easier if I could see the whole list instantly, like in pre-Vista All Programs lists. Make the list pop up like in XP, or make the Start Menu window expand to fit the All Programs list. Make it an option of course :) I know that there's people who like the limited list.

just search for the program name and hit enter. Way more faster
I alos agree. I just got a 7 box from XP, I must admit i have alot of old habits, so it is easier to see the whole menu. Also its a new machine so it's even hard to see what I have preinstalled. Its strange that I have a huge monitor but cann't see everything i want to.
I agree, I had posted a similar suggestion but people demoted it. I have no clue why. It is ironic that users nowadays have LCDs with big resolutions but the OS still doesn't not take advantage of the screen real estate.
I agree I want the expanded programs window back. It helps to see all your programs and even ones you might want to remove. Seems we went backwards on this idea MS.
Or better yet expand the width of the menu like it is in search or the start menu jump lists so you get more room to view programs and perhaps even allow diferent views.
Classic Shell fixes this problem by expanding "All Programs" as a menu. in the new Windows Start menu instead of replacing it with the Classic Start menu.

I agree 100%. It used to take about 2 seconds to popup my hundred programs installed and select the correct one. Now I must click scroll, I don't know how many times and if I miss it, it takes even longer. The popup allows my eyes to scan instead of my fingers. Why does Microsoft remove a good thing?
