<partially fixed in 7100> Windows Easy Transfer is not exactly polished

Submitted by Calum.Cook on May 3, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Bug, Icons, Usability

*Updated for RC - it's quite a bit better now*

Red: Why is this title bar text a different size that every other title bar? It isn't difficult, Microsoft - just use 9pt Segoe UI everywhere.

Blue: a big fake command link. Why? Why not use the standard command link control?

Orange: Where is the Cancel button? I know I can click the X button, but every other wizard has a Cancel button. The UX Guidelines state explicitly that there should be a cancel button.

Green: This is like GIF transparency gone horribly wrong. Why are there white-coloured artefacts around this image? I thought we were in the age of alpha-transparent PNGs?

Why is there some weird background on the Welcome page? It should be white.

Ok, so it's better than it was before. I'm aware that, because this also runs on XP, the chances of it using real command links by RTM are next to none. But Microsoft, at least change the title bar text to 9pt, change the background of the Welcome screen to white, and use decent icons on the command links. The most serious bugs have already been corrected. There's no text to change, so no time spent on translations to 30 languages, so it can't possibly take long to fix it, can it?
