Security Settings has a Warning dialog that is wrongly designed

Submitted by nyp on March 14, 2009 to Aesthetics

Internet Options > Security tab > Custom level... > Reset...
Out pops a dialog that is styled wrongly:
1. Wrong font
2. It should not have a title bar icon
3. Buttons should be on the right, not centered
4. Don’t use the terms “warning” or “caution” in the text. When used correctly, the warning icon sufficiently communicates that users must proceed with caution.
5. It doesn't make the Exclamation sound when you open it.

Style the dialog like the second one on the image.

Main Instructions are 12pt and blue.

Agreed but the used warning icon is correct because it's about security. Your icon is more a standard warning icon.

It's a silly point but you could also rewrite this complaint as "Security Settings has a Warning dialog that uses the standard windows styling".

That dialog uses the standard windows colors for dialog boxes (which have a gray background).

@LarryOsterman: But if there are different standards for the same thing then there is not really a "standard" ;)

Changed the title to Security Settings.
Changed the icon.
Changed the description to be a little more informative.

It also doesn't make the Exclamation sound when you open it.
