Math Input Panel - Tablet Error

Pen is "stuck" in select mode (lasso, no ink) in math input panel. Users cannot enter handwriting with pens. Mouse can draw text, and pen works in other applications.

Would like working pen support in math input panel.

I never understood how this panel worked. I always "wrote" (better: painted) something and nothing happened. o.O is there a button I have to push in order to make it convert it to a mathematic therm or what?!
