[Suggestion] Device Stage Jumplist: Replaces "Safely Remove Hardware" & adds functionality
Issues in Safely Remove Hardware:
Small Icons, funny names, hard-to-use interface in an overwhelming window.
In the Device Stage Jumplist:
Tells you how many connected devices are there.
Large icons, readable text.
Shows device status, allows ejecting and safely removing
Integrates device installation, instead of having it in a separate window.
Taskbar icon shows if a device is inserted, removed, or has an error.
Clicking on device leads to Device Stage window, control panel, print list, etc.
Overall easy to use interface that is looks and feels like Windows 7.
Use something simillar to my Mockup of a Device Stage Jumplist.

Nice mock up
+1
some people cant move on from the past (those who demoted)(
In any case it could do with updating.
Nice mockup. Yeah, this looks pretty good, and I don't see a usability issue. +1
I'd get rid of that "virus-laden device", though, if I were you ;-)
Very nice!

agreed, this could come in handy for a lot of people who are working with different drive mediums +1
good idea. +1
this feature gonna be awesome, I hope microsft can help us
This is a good idea for a notification area dialog, but it's not a jumplist. It's not Device Stage specific either, since Device Stage is opt-in for certain companies to have a kind of home page for their gadgets.
This mockup (which is very nice and a good idea) is basically a replacement for what we get when we click the 'eject devices' system tray icon
