Blue progress bar for Win 7

Submitted by Schnubbie on January 21, 2009 to Aesthetics

I always think of Vista when I see the green progress bar in Win 7. Blue is the inofficial color of Win 7 so why not a blue and modern progress bar. The green progress bar started with xp (green start button/meadow). Vista has the typical Aurora greenish color that the progress bar fits there very well. But Win 7 has not anything green. So please for the sake of consistency, give me a blue progress bar as shown in the picture.

Make the Win 7 progress bar blue.

1. This is a beta. The colors can always change,
2. XP's start button/bliss background have nothing to do with the progress bar.
3. Green seems fine. Theres to much blue at the moment.
4. What I would like to see is a progress bar that matches our glass color/theme,

BTW, why did you hide that program on your desktop?

In Vista, and most probably in 7, Green is fort "active" progress bar, yellow for "paused/hanged" progress bars and red is for "stopped" progress bar.

It is as "real life" common color scheme ...

MS have so far done a stealth job at changing themes and customizing colors, maybe it would be a good idea to expnd this a bit and allow for "advanced tweaks" to facilitate these kind of changes.

@ Jereck
I didn´t know that windows uses these colors as a "traffic light", sounds logical. But I still think it doesn´t fit to the rest of the new blue concept.

Whats there to hide?

also, as explained before theres to much blue, let alone its a beta.

.Chris, there being too much blue is a matter of opinion. I myself like it and do not think there is too much.

@Dubya: I like your idea. More customization is always good as long as it does not confuse people, which I don't think that would do (at least as long as it's hard to stumble upon).

though out the years windows has always been blue. time for a change....

you could do what i said twice earler and have it be based off of the glass color. or the "traffic light" deal.

In Windows versions before XP (the classic theme) the progress bar has always been blue. I appreciate that it's green now.

The green flashing progress bar is one of the best designs in Windows Vista.

Blue ? Man, change that fish background, is the first thing i do. Mine is transparent, no color predominant

Maybe you think that "blue" thing because you don't have the Glass stuff

Many people user aero. if your system cant support it, well, thats your problem

I download my wallpapers from interface lift. they have a large selection of high res. backgrounds. in all sorts of sizes
