Add more Customization

Submitted by Zedo Mann on April 2, 2010 to Aesthetics

The Windows 7 UI isn't nearly customizable enough by simply changing the color of the glass.

Add more customization, such as button color (change it from the default blue), corner shape (sharp or more curved), Window background (change it from the shadow), etc.

"Share" Checkbox on Libraries is never "un-greyed".

Submitted by Zedo Mann on January 6, 2010 to Aesthetics, Bug, Usability

On an individual Library's properties window, there is a checkbox labeled "Share". It seems impossible to get it un-grayed, and it shouldn't be there.

Remove this checkbox.

Site: Rate Comments

Submitted by Zedo Mann on January 1, 2010 to Website suggestions

People can make stupid or mean comments, and don't really get any punishment or reputation for doing so.

Add a system to rate users' comments, and also add a reputation to the profile page of each user. This way, you can see if somebody is frequently posting bad comments, and possibly somebody in charge of the site (admin, owner, etc.) can ban them.

Allow Third-Party Programs to be added to Device Stage Tasks

Submitted by Zedo Mann on December 29, 2009 to Annoyance, Usability

The new Device Stage pops up when you plug in an extra little device like a MP3 player, and it is supposed to contain useful tasks for you to do with your device. However, you have to do these tasks using only MS programs.

Allow Third Party Programs to be added to Device Stage for different tasks.

Add Save Thumbnail to All Files

Submitted by Zedo Mann on December 19, 2009 to Aesthetics

Not all programs allow you to save a thumbnail like you can in some of the Microsoft Office 2007 Programs (Word, Excel, (PowerPoint does it automatically)).

Allow all programs to save a thumbnail with the file, at least as an option.

Allow non-Microsoft Programs to use certain features

Submitted by Zedo Mann on November 29, 2009 to Aesthetics, Usability

I'm not sure if this is possible, but I believe that only Microsoft Programs can have these features.

Features such as the ribbon, and the quick access toolbar are not allowed to be used in non-Microsoft programs.

Allow non-Microsoft Programs to use these features.

Notepad could use some updates

Submitted by Zedo Mann on November 29, 2009 to Aesthetics, Legacy, Usability

Currently Notepad has not changed at all. It is still the same old basic thing. The Menu bar is still showing.

Update Notepad to, at least, have a quick access toolbar.

Re-Detect Games in Games Explorer

Submitted by Zedo Mann on October 3, 2009 to Annoyance

The Games Explorer needs a way to find already installed games. For example: I am using Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit). I have a secondary partition for my games. I was able to install Steam over my existing installation from Windows Vista and have all (more...)

Add a Detect Games button to the Games Explorer, possibly in options.
