Due to the stupidity of Long (that's me), all comments on the Windows 7 Taskforce after March has been lost.
As a result of this unfortunate event, a transition to a new backend (the one powering heresanidea.net) is being considered.

Cannot upload image attachment without file extention.

Submitted by Ensign Joe on July 23, 2009 to Website suggestions

See my suggestion about the Restart now button.
I tried upload a screenshot but it refuses to display it. There's no error message and the changelog says "Added image attachment" but there's none to display.
As I hate (more...)

Check the file's mime type? or use getimagesize() to check its type.

Submitted by Ensign Joe on July 23, 2009 to Annoyance

As there is no possibility to use the Aero style in setup (Windows PE basics) they re-coded the "OK" aero button in the autorun menu very nicely.
The restart now button yet is neither a recoded button nor a default Windows button. It (more...)

[Website] Add option to view only submissions with an image attachment

Submitted by Ensign Joe on May 23, 2009 to Website suggestions

I often just want to look through the submissions I have not voted yet and I just want to have a quick look through what they're about so I just look for those with images in some cases.

Add option to hide submissions without image attachment.

[Website] "Back to all users" link on user page links back to main page

Submitted by Ensign Joe on February 19, 2009 to Bug

if you view a user's profile there is a link "Back to all users" at the top. But if you click it you're not redirected to a page like a user overview, you're redirected back to the main page.

Also there is no way (more...)

Either provide a list of users to redirect to or just rename that link to "Back to main page"... well or just... remove it.

Submitted by Ensign Joe on January 22, 2009 to Aesthetics, Bug

Tested with Build 7000 using Aero BASIC (don't know if it happens with Aero enabled):

You'll notice that the start menu reduces its width by a few pixels.

This then (more...)

Keep Start Menu's size!

Language bar help button uses Longhorn era help icon

Submitted by Ensign Joe on January 22, 2009 to Aesthetics

The language bar features a help button that is actually a Longhorn Questionmark symbol.
The difference between the Longhorn one and the Vista version is very subtle. Longhorn's border is thicker and the blue tone is darker.

Use a Vista style icon.

Submitted by Ensign Joe on January 21, 2009 to Aesthetics

If you happen to reset your PC while Windows is finalizing the installation, Windows does NOT allow you to continue but you have to restart setup all over again... That is shit!

But:

Shadow behind picture disappears when zooming in Windows Live Photo Gallery

Submitted by Ensign Joe on January 14, 2009 to Aesthetics

If you open a picture with Windows Live Photo Gallery it has a nice drop shadow around it.
If you zoom in (even just one step) this shadow disappears.

Always display the shadow.

Submitted by Ensign Joe on November 4, 2008 to Aesthetics

Submitted by Ensign Joe on November 4, 2008 to Aesthetics

The shadows on every menu that is opened by a Ribbon (in Paint or Wordpad e.g.) are either not over the complete length of the menu or are just vertical lines.

Use a "working" good-looking dropshadow
