NTFS should handle Original Creation Date

Problem: When you copy a file (not moving) the Creation Date gets replaced by the date in which you copied it. This makes sense because that specific file was created in that date, however, what the file represents (a family picture for example) was not created (more...)

Solution: Have NTFS include an Original Creation Date that can never be changed or have it not replace the Creation Date, when you copy a file, and instead put the old one.

Wrong "Last Modified Date"

Problem: I dunno how or when did this happen but I sure know this is wrong. Look at the creation date and last modified date on the pic.

Solution: Ensure that the dates that files are being edited with are right...

Check Disk Task Bar Doesn't Show Progress

Problem: When Check Disk is launched though the UI it won't display the progress in the task bar.

Solution: Have check disk show the progress on the task bar

Cycle Songs with Back/Forward Mouse Buttons

Problem: Nowadays many windows applications make use of most mouse buttons. WMP12 seems to be an exception. With the back and forward buttons on almost every single mouse being produced right now it would be nice to be able to cycle songs with them.

Solution: Link "Previous" and "Next" buttons in WMP with the Back and Forward buttons in the mouse respectively (It would be also nice if it worked on top of the Aero Peek).

Ctrl + Right/Left Arrow Conflict WMP 12

Problem: When in almost any text editor you press ctrl + left/right arrow you would skip words arrow-ward. WMP didn't use to be the exception before 12.

WMP12 has assigned that key combination to cycling among playlists. For me it isn't (more...)

Solution: Keep the playlist from cycling when you press ctrl + left/right arrow if you're editing a field, or assign a new key combination to the playlist cycle function.

Reshow Windows Right, After Changing Display

Problem: When you attach/detach a display to your computer, the current display will blink. Then all the windows you had maximized will show a couple pixels smaller than actually maximized.

Solution: Return the windows to way they were.

Gadget Always on Top issue

Problem: If you mark a gadget as Always on Top, if you move it into the space -on the screen- taken by a second gadget, this second gadget will show itself as "Always on Top" until you modify any setting from the right click.

Merge Folder

Problem: When you merge two folders and you choose to delete every single file inside the first one, when it ends it leaves the folder you copied the data from; empty.

Solution: If the folder where you copied from remains empty, give the user an easy option to delete it.
NOTE: Take hidden and system files into account before deleting.

Certifications Backup Icon is small

Repeatedly Change Desktop Wallpaper

Keep Settings for Network Connections

Problem: When you click on the Network Connections near the clock on the system tray you get your connections categorized. The categories are always shown, even if you collapsed any.

Solution: Remember how the user left it and display it back the way it was.

Duplicated Start Menu Search Result

Problem: Sometimes when you use the in-menu search of the start menu you get duplicate results. I GUESS they actually ARE duplicated and therefore this is not a bug per se.

Solution: A filter could be applied to the search results (this, of course, should be transparent to the user) where each result is compared to all results already in the list to check for duplicity.

Border Padding Resetting

Problem: When you specify a padding border for the windows it might reset randomly after a couple (perhaps maybe even one) computer reset, taking it back to 4.
