Take down(no but we need to do something) Windows 7 Taskforce

Submitted by bluefisch200 on April 24, 2010 to Legacy

Yes i will get many "-" now but Windows 7 is done, they will not change much more and most of the submissions are big things to change...and in the last few weeks i have seen that 50% of the submissions are spam and other trash...so just think (more...)

Maybe we could take the top 100 of all submissions and put them into a dossier and send this to Steven Sinofsky (he is very open for ideas of the users)....

Create user pic with webcam

Submitted by bluefisch200 on October 25, 2009 to Usability

Not relay a problem, more a feature request...

It is not an important feature but normally a user account is only for one user, would it not be nice to add a feature that allows you to create a user picture with your web cam (if you have one)

Folder specific searches

Submitted by bluefisch200 on September 6, 2009 to Usability

You can save searches but you could not access these searches directly from a folder where you need the specific search.
What you can do is pinning the searches on to the favorites but you do not need this searches everywhere you are.

Introducing folder specific searches, these are searches who you have “pinned” to a folder.
If you open the folder, you will see all searches that you have pinned on to it…

[Print Screen] Key should open the Snipping Tool

Submitted by bluefisch200 on August 27, 2009 to Usability

Windows has a great Tool for printscreens but you still have a second way(Print Screen Key -> Paint)...why not merge the 2 ways together?

Edit: With the option to change the app who is associated to the key...better? :D

Allow 3 party developers to use Windows Update

Submitted by bluefisch200 on July 19, 2009 to Legacy, Usability

Every application has it own update algorithm.
Problems:
1. Only Updates if you launch the program
2. Different places where you update the software
3. security issues

Demoter: please explain
Create a way how Windows Update can check the version of a 3 party software and let Windows Update download the Updates from the servers of the 3 party developers.
Yes also the developers need to do some work but (more...)

Improve the Windows window management so we can have a taskbar on every monitor

Submitted by bluefisch200 on July 10, 2009 to Legacy, Usability

Windows 7 has still the taskbar on only 1 of your screens if you have 2 or more screens
Steven Sinofsky has written a mail to me with the information that that will be very heavy to implement in the actual Windows desktop.
demoters are welcome (more...)

I think not the same way and we just need to improve the way how windows handles windows.
So i create some "rules"

1. Every application who will be launched over an icon(on the superbar or in a folder, desktop) appear on (more...)

If Library default save location is full, ask user for saving the file in another location

Submitted by bluefisch200 on July 6, 2009 to Bug, Usability

Problem:
If you have a library with 2 locations and the default save location has no free space windows will tell you that you cant move the file into the library.

Ask the user to save the file in another location of the library and also ask him to change the default save location

Submitted by bluefisch200 on June 2, 2009 to Aesthetics, Legacy, Usability

The Registry editor(regedit.exe) of Windows is very old and the navigation is very bad...
