Add a keyboard shortcut to create a new folder to explorer

Submitted by hami1car on December 16, 2008 to Annoyance, Usability

Creating a new folder is an extremely common task for power users. It's annoying to have to go to a menu to do this. A keyboard shortcut would solve this.

Might I recommend CTRL-SHIFT N? That would be peachy.

In windows vista, far too many formats aren't displayed in the preview pane, and the overall presentation is drab.

Look, I'm sure this is hard to fix, but I guarantee if any engineer tried to tell Steve Jobs OSX had to look like this, there would have had a short elevator ride in his future. It's fixable, and that's the level of commitment MS needs (more...)

Replace Windows Basic Theme with Non-Aero theme from Windows Live

Submitted by hami1car on November 3, 2008 to Aesthetics

Basic is ugly. I know it was designed to punish people for buying Windows Basic, but it needs to go, because I didn't buy Basic, but I see this theme too much anyway.

A. The press often uses virtualization, and so many of the screenshots (more...)

Just use the theme that the Live apps use in XP, or something similar. Google chrome does a decent job too. It works without Aero, but actually looks a little like Aero. That's consistency.
