Saving a GIF image in Paint brings up a dialog which uses the wrong buttons

Problem: They apparently fixed the unclickable Close button[1] in this dialog but they also screwed up one thing...
The buttons.
The UX Guide[2] says that "When asking a question, use labels that match the question. Don't use OK/Cancel (more...)

Solution: Revert the buttons.
Also, while you're there, redesign the dialog like the second one in the image.

Advanced User Accounts Options taskbar button is pixelated on high DPI

Problem: On high DPI, Advanced User Accounts Options taskbar button is pixelated. Also the icons inside that too.

Solution: Replace it with high-resolution icons in netplwiz.exe and netplwiz.dll

Welcome text shadow in login screen in high DPI is small

Problem: After changing the DPI, logoff and logon back again. The screen went black for a while and the "Welcome" text appears. The problem? The shadow behind the text is small.

Solution: Update the shadow to become bigger if the user wants high DPI.

A "Recent activity" page which shows the latest activity

A new page called "Recent activity" which shows the latest activity, for example:

* New comments
* Newly registered users
* Edited submissions

Solution: See the image for a cheaply-made mockup :p

Create a new system restore point dialog uses wrong font

Solution: Change the font to Segoe UI.

Photo Viewer's E-mail button opens up a window with a horrible looking icon

Problem: Open an image file in Photo Viewer and then click the "E-mail" button. A horrible looking icon appears on the taskbar.
Also, I wonder who actually minimizes this window...

Solution: Put an icon in the taskbar.
Disable the ability to minimize it.
Put a progress bar on the taskbar.

<partially fixed> "Printing Documents" window appears as Windows Explorer in the taskbar

Problem: The "Printing Documents" window appears as Windows Explorer in the taskbar. Doesn't make sense.

Solution: Seperate it by having a new printer icon like the second one in the image.

Stretched icon in Keyboard Layout Preview

Wrong Computer icon in "System Tools" folder

Problem: There is a Computer item inside the System Tools folder. It displays the Administrative Tools icon in the more recent builds. However, this is fine in Vista and build 7000.

Solution: Change the icon to the Computer icon.

"Website suggestions" in "Post a suggestion" screen splits into two lines

In the "Post a suggestion" screen, the "Website suggestions" category splits into two lines. Obviously, this doesn't look nice.

Solution: Change "Website suggestions" to "Website suggestion"

Inconsistent Progressive Disclosure Buttons

Problem: There are so many different progressive disclosure buttons. It's inconsistency to the max.

Solution: Make all the progressive disclosure buttons the same. Use the one in the UAC dialogue because I think that one looks the best.

Fonts folder isn't compatible with Extra Large Icons.

Problem: The Fonts folder in the Windows folder isn't compatible with Extra Large Icons. Weird thing is that there IS one in main.cpl

Solution: Change it to the one inside main.cpl
It should be an easy resource swap.

Force Safe Mode to use Windows Classic theme

Problem: In Safe Mode, it uses the Aero Basic theme. HOWEVER, Themes service is disabled. That means you get to experience one of the most hideous themes ever designed.

Solution: Force Safe Mode to use Windows Classic theme.
