Redesign the IE downloader to use Aero File Operation animation and styling
Copying, Renaming, Tagging, Deleting, and Moving files in Vista/7 all use a common window styling. The only File Operation that doesn't use this styling is Downloading.
Update the window to use the same styling as the other File Operations.
Here's a mockup to give an idea of what I mean. (Vote on suggestion not my not so good mockup!)

Media Player groups lack collapsibility found elsewhere.
If you group items in either Explorer or Photo Gallery you can collapse the group using a chevron at the end of the group title. Windows Media Player has grouping, but lacks the functionality of collapsing the group.
Add the same collapse chevron found on groups in Photo Gallery and Explorer to Windows Media Player groups.

Media Player navigational collapse arrows don't autohide as Explorer does.
In the Windows Explorer Navigational Pane the collapse/expand arrows for all folders are hidden until the Pane is hovered over. In Windows Media Player the arrows are always visible, whether the Pane is hovered over or note.
Hide the arrows until a user hover over the Navigational box. This standardizes behavior between programs and removes visual clutter.

Media Player 12 adds unnecessary column dividers
Windows Media Player 11 had a very clean and streamlined look. One reason for that was the non-inclusion of column dividers and the autohiding of the one for the Navigation Pane. Windows Media Player 12 cluttered things up by changing this.
Get rid of the dividers completely to make things clean like they were in 11.
Alternatively - Autohide them and only show them on hover, the way the Navigation Pane is currently set.

IE8RC now requires 3 clicks to add to favorites, use to require 2
In Internet Explorer 7, 8 Beta 1/2 to add something to favorites took two clicks. You clicked the Star-plus button, and then choose how you want to add it.
In Internet Explorer RC1 they moved that drop down button into the favorites pane. (more...)
Don't put drop down menus in drop out menus.
Leave it in the Favorites Pane, but change the "Add to Favorites" drop down menu into seperate buttons. That way it will still take two clicks, but not require the old two buttons(saving (more...)
