File types that have the 'pages' property, like Word Documents, should have a representation based on the number of pages they have—a document with more than one page shown as a pile, the front page with a curl.

Legacy FTP "Log On As" Screen
When logging into an FTP directory through Explorer, the Log On As screen is entirely outdated. The icons appear to be from the Windows 98 era and the color scheme does not match the newer Aero styling.
Update the icons and the window color scheme.

Windows Installer (msiexec.exe) has an old icon
Windows Installer has an OLD Windows 2000/ME style icon.
It's gotta go, get that icon gone. Replace it with something a little more Vista-like.

Rebulid Character Map from scratch: Add your thoughts to my list
Character map is a useful tool to get those special characters but it needs some work.
1. Update the icon. The icon looks like its from XP era, let alone looks like a game peace.
2. The fonts section is old. When you are viewing the list, it should show what the font looks like, rather then just simple text and the 9x font icon. (more...)

Improve space around clock in icontray when using small icons
In normal mode, the clock shows time and date, hence the space taken by it is governed by the date as it is longer.
If small icons in the taskbar is chosen, only the clock is displayed but the space taken is the same.
This wastes a lot (more...)
Resize the clock placeholder size in order to better accommodate the displayed information.
See mockup for suggestion.
PS: I was a bit aggressive on the new size... but you can get the idea.
