Submitted by .Chris on February 22, 2010 to Website suggestions

I don't see why ideas that have been closed are still on the main index.

Respond to topic via e-mail

Submitted by .Chris on February 21, 2010 to Website suggestions

Facebook does this. You get the e-mail notifcation and you can respond to the discussion via the e-mail. Hit reply and BAM! you can reply with out the need to go to the main site.

This would work great if your real busy but just wanted to throw in your two cents, or even better if your on a mobile device.

Create a mode for this website that is optimized for mobile phones with internet access

Submitted by formula_86 on February 21, 2010 to Usability, Website suggestions

I know this website is obviously targeted at Windows 7 users, but I bet there are some people here who access this site from a web browser on a mobile phone and I bet this site doesn't look too good on a mobile phone, because there will be a lot (more...)

Create a mode for this site that is optimized for mobile phones, or create that kind of mode for this site when you make it use the heresanidea system.

Allow both problem & solution images

Submitted by bernard on February 19, 2010 to Website suggestions

It's frustrating that you can only upload one picture to show your submission. You have to choose to show your problem, the solution to it, or a combination of both.

The problem with a combination image is that you see a really small (more...)

In the title. If server space/bandwidth are an issue, cut down the max filesize to 1 or 1.5MB.

Allow images to be uploaded from a different website

Submitted by formula_86 on February 17, 2010 to Website suggestions

When posting a submission, it would be nice if the image uploader could upload images from a different website to save having to save the image to your computer, then upload it.

If possible, modify the image uploader to do whats suggested above.

Limit how many times a user can promote/demote submissions within a 5 minute radius

Submitted by formula_86 on February 14, 2010 to Website suggestions

Does anyone here think it would be a good idea if not implemented already to limit how many times you can promote/demote submissions within say, a 5 minute radius like on YouTube where it limits how many times you can vote on comments before having to (more...)

Let the user 'nyp' take total ownership of this site

Submitted by formula_86 on February 13, 2010 to Website suggestions

I know that post 'Nominate somone else to run this site' that some retarded (and hopefully banned by now) person posted wasn't very ideal, but what he/she should have put is 'Nominate the user 'nyp' to take ownership of this (more...)

Long, if you haven't already done so, or considered doing so, consider giving total ownership of this site and possibly the entire Taskforce network as a little something to say thankyou for such excellent management. (You would still get to keep (more...)

Purge

Submitted by n49o7 on January 28, 2010 to Website suggestions

Most of the suggestions that were demoted below (let's say) 10 are old, user specific bugs, poster mistakes, etc ...
(Use the website's filters to display them and browse through the two or three last pages if you don't see what (more...)

Phasing out IE6 support

Submitted by huntah302 on January 22, 2010 to Website suggestions

A lot of websites have a message appear if you are still using IE6 saying that they are phasing out support for your browser. I wonder if this site does?

Have it so that if someone is still using IE6, show a message at the top of the page saying that this site is phasing out support for IE6, and recommend other more modern browsers such as IE8 or Firefox.

Message overlay for people who got banned

Submitted by formula_86 on January 21, 2010 to Website suggestions

Obviously, I don't know what error message you'd get if you tried to visit this website when you are banned, because I am a good person and have no intention of getting banned, but if you haven't already made it like that, have it so that (more...)

Add a message overlay that appears only for banned visitors.

A separate section or different website for technical issues.

Submitted by brownbat on January 18, 2010 to Website suggestions

This is a great site for aggregating feedback on various issues, but some commenters feel this site should have a more purely UI focus, and vote down more technical issues because they appear out of place.

Submitters wanting to aggregate (more...)

1. A sister site that is nearly a copy of this one, but more focused on technical/bug issues
or
2. A different checkbox allowing people to post issues which are more technical in nature, along with a user option to filter these results (more...)

Make this site XHTML 1.0 Transitional

Submitted by formula_86 on January 16, 2010 to Website suggestions

I used the XHTML 1.0 transitional validator to check this website, and it found lots of errors! :(

I know this website work absolutely fine the way it is, but maybe you could try correcting the errors so that you can proudly say that this site is XHTML 1.0 transitional.

Do you need one, Long Zheng, for the "unfortunate event"?
