"Save Target As..." fails to simultaneous download two different files with the same name

Submitted by sjharwin on April 15, 2010 to Annoyance, Bug

Sometimes when you download a file (say a PDF) from a site it has a default name for certain files (eg article.pdf). If I right click on the link to that file and choose "save target as", point to a location on disk and click save (without (more...)

I assume the missing is hidden somewhere, perhaps in temporary internet files... but I cannot find that in the AppData.

Windows Explorer slow to sort files

Submitted by KirbzStar on April 8, 2010 to Annoyance, Bug, Usability

If you have a folder full of say 100+ media files (movie and or photos), and you want to do a sort by date in details view, the computer will think for a few seconds (the green progress will creep along the address bar) before it actually does the sort.

Date sorting should be instant.

Adobe Dreamweaver under Windows 7 crashes when I close it

Submitted by huntah302 on March 28, 2010 to Annoyance, Bug, Legacy, Usability

I thought that Windows 7 had excellent compatibility with a whole range of software? It seems not. Adobe Dreamweaver worked fine in Windows Vista, but under Windows 7, it appears to work fine, but then crashes when I close it. I'm guessing that this (more...)

If that is the case, Microsoft should release a hotfix to patch them files to make them compatible with Adobe Dreamweaver.

Some full-screen applications / games may display the taskbar

Submitted by Cab on March 14, 2010 to Bug

Some full-screen applications or games still retain the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. I had initially thought this to be an issue caused by the new desktop window manager, but it turned out to be related to high-DPI.

If you are using high-DPI: Right-click the application in question and on the compatibility tab tick the checkbox to disable high-DPI scaling.

Start Menu Out Of Shape

Submitted by Trinity1080 on March 13, 2010 to Annoyance, Bug, Usability

When the taskbar is being docked on the side, it will block the pinned items. That is not good, but the worst part is when it is dragged wider, the start menu will change into something very ugly which I failed to describe it.

Fix this bug!

Make excel easier to use

Submitted by mooky on March 11, 2010 to Annoyance, Bug, Usability

I work in a lot of spreadsheets with multiple worksheets within them. I'd like an alt-tab function so that I can flick between the worksheets easily instead of going to all the terrible effort of using my mouse to select the correct one.

Create an alt-tab-like system!
