Improve Registry editor GUI
The Registry editor(regedit.exe) of Windows is very old and the navigation is very bad...
Just use a GUI you already have...the Explorer GUI...the image should describe the rest...

Very annoying legacy save / open dialog
This is a very annoying legacy save and open dialog which appears when older programs use thier save feature. Its annoying because you have to browse several folders to get to your documents, because back in XP Documents was the actual folder but now (more...)
Force all legacy apps to use modern save dialogs or consider revising legacy support for breadcrumbs / or at least favourite places

How old is this UI of check disk?
This UI dates back since NT4. Someting that would give better feedback to the user, and an easier way of actually scanning your harddisk for errors would be a good idea. Right now this UI is buried and difficult to get to
Update the UI and unbury it.
See my new mockup for an example.

I feel like ive travelled back 10 years: Private Character Editor
If you are going to include this program that 99.9% of the planet doesnt even use, make sure that it doesnt look like a Windows 95 program. Its all OLD.
Oh and its even worse because its no longer buried in Windows, its in the START MENU!
AT LEAST:
-Add a manifest to the program so it can use visual syles on controls
-Update the icons to match Aero style

Worst application I have ever seen in my life : Sound Recorder
What happend to Quality Control, Microsoft???
Theres too much to say about this crappy program. It seems to get worse with each Windows release. In XP it was actually usable, Vista broke it entirely and now its crapper than crap.
Microsoft, you have enough money, purchase a sound recording software program off a company and include it in Windows. Or give it a SERIOUS overhaul.
IT SUCKS!

WMP options are in OVERKILL
There is way TOO MANY tabs on the options dialog and WAY TOO MANY options for Windows media player on each tab in general. Looking at this awful mess makes users shy away from changing any WMP settings.
(in other words this dialog sucks!)
Implement a Windows media control center or control panel, its about time it had one or embed it in the Windows Control panel or something, either way get rid of this Win9x style dialog!

Old XP animation inside Windows 7
Many installers I have come across call on a AVI resource for showing file copy progress. This animation still shows as a XP style one (exactly the same, to be honest) which is still present in Windows 7. It should be updated.
Update it to a newer, Aero styled (like in the file copy dialogs).
