Take down(no but we need to do something) Windows 7 Taskforce
Yes i will get many "-" now but Windows 7 is done, they will not change much more and most of the submissions are big things to change...and in the last few weeks i have seen that 50% of the submissions are spam and other trash...so just think (more...)
Maybe we could take the top 100 of all submissions and put them into a dossier and send this to Steven Sinofsky (he is very open for ideas of the users)....

Should we report IE9 beta quirks?
Even though IE9 isn't a part of Windows 7, it is tightly focused around Windows 7 in many ways which makes me wonder whether or not it would be appropriate to post UX quirks about IE9 here as the development of IE9 progresses.
Long Zheng, please let us know whether or not it would be appropriate to post UX quirks about IE9 here. Thank you.

Layout options & window sizes in Explorer
Changing window size & layout options in Windows Explorer affects subsequently opened Explorer windows universally. I often arrange several open windows so that they can all be viewed simultaneously and I can copy/paste, reference text, or drag & (more...)
Perhaps this could be solved with shortcuts? If one could create a shortcut to a folder, library or network location and associate layout options for the browser window the shortcut is meant to open it would be helpful.

NTFS should handle Original Creation Date
When you copy a file (not moving) the Creation Date gets replaced by the date in which you copied it. This makes sense because that specific file was created in that date, however, what the file represents (a family picture for example) was not created (more...)
Have NTFS include an Original Creation Date that can never be changed or have it not replace the Creation Date, when you copy a file, and instead put the old one.

"Save Target As..." fails to simultaneous download two different files with the same name
Sometimes when you download a file (say a PDF) from a site it has a default name for certain files (eg article.pdf). If I right click on the link to that file and choose "save target as", point to a location on disk and click save (without (more...)
I assume the missing is hidden somewhere, perhaps in temporary internet files... but I cannot find that in the AppData.

Snap Any Window to Half the Screen Size in Windows 7
I have a 23inch monitor and its somewhat difficult for me to drug a window across the screen so that it can be half the screen size.
There should be a link or a right click option on the menu bar to allow users to do that.

Paint: Make the shape drawing tools as flexible as in Microsoft Office apps
Say for example you draw a speech bubble, it is very difficult to position the pointed bit from the speech bubble to exactly where you want.
Make the shape drawing tools as flexible as in Microsoft Office apps as in you can move the shapes and adjust the shapes exactly however you choose to do so.

Add an option in Windows Explorer to split zip files across multiple locations
Third-party compression utilities allow you to do this, and I know that Windows Explorer does in fact allow you to open zip files that span multiple volumes, but there is no option to allow you to create multi-volume zip archives.
Add support in Windows Explorer for creating multi-volume zip archives.
