Allow right clicking on Library pane to sort files

Problem: In libraries you are only able to group, filter or sort files via right clicking the background of the window. This is really difficult if the window is full of files or you are using touch input. The screen shot shows in green where you can right click.

Solution: The large library pane should allow right clicking to open the context menu of the window to group, filter and sort files. The area is marked red in the screen shot.

Explorer Search box resizing

Problem: When you open explorer and would like to resize the width of the search box, the resize zone where your cursor switches between normal cursor and resize cursor is only one pixel wide whereas the 2 search boxes are 9 pixels apart, this makes resizing them (more...)

Solution: Make the resize zone in explorer wider like it is in IE so it fills the gap between the two text boxes and is easier to hit with the mouse.

Start menu User folder link

Problem: When you open the start menu and click on the button with your user name it takes you to the libraries folder instead of your user folder. Considering that all the different individual libraries are listed below your user name (Documents, Pictures etc), (more...)

Solution: Make the button with your user name take you to you user folder. If there needs to be a link in the start menu that takes you to your libraries folder then it should be called "Libraries", the same way it is in explorers navigation pane. Although (more...)

<build 7000> Uncustomisable Quick Access Toolbar in Paint and Wordpad (and orange-dotted icons)

Problem: 1. The Quick Access Toolbar in Paint and Wordpad (the one residing in the title bar, has no options to reorder the icons in it. It just places them in the order in which you activate them.

Solution: 1. Add an option for custom-ordering the icons in the dropdown menu of the Quick Access Toolbar, as is the case with the Office 2007 programs. Anyway, replicating the Office Ribbon functionality (than just the looks) would offer more consistency.

Sound devices mgmt need a revamp. DO IT.

Problem: QA time.
When displaying two audio devices next to the task tray by left clicking the speaker icon, I can't set a default audio device without opening a new faking winder.

Solution: I want to set the default audio device by right click > set default on the device image; after left clicking the speaker icon next to the task tray.

The side pane should disappear in small windows

Problem: If you are going to include this program that 99.9% of the planet doesnt even use, make sure that it doesnt look like a Windows 95 program. Its all OLD.

Oh and its even worse because its no longer buried in Windows, its in the START MENU!

Solution: AT LEAST:

-Add a manifest to the program so it can use visual syles on controls
-Update the icons to match Aero style

Enhanced Start Menu customization to allow Classic Start Menu Emulation

Windows Media Center Music Viz: Slow, Shows Podcasts

Problem: Windows Media Center's Music Playback screen (Build 7000) shows all my album artwork slowly scrolling upwards in the background. However, it slows performance to about 2fps on an Intel X3100. Also, it shows podcast (and presumably audiobook) artwork, (more...)

Solution: Prerender the album artwork then do a faded wipe to reveal it, or slowly remove the complex shadows and rendering effects used on the artwork once it is placed. Also, do not show album artwork for spoken word, podcast, audiobook and other obvious genres.

WMP Now Playing Mode Issues.
