Fairly messy behavior when using right-click options in the IE taskbar previews.

Submitted by eikonoklastes2 on January 11, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Bug, Usability

Open IE and open a few tabs.

Fire up the taskbar thumbnail preview and right-click on any one tab preview. Then directly right-click on another.

I'm not sure if this is just my machine, but IE flickers rather obviously (more...)

You obviously cannot minimize just one tab, so when previewing tabs, either:

- Replace the word Minimize with 'Minimize IE' (or something like that).
- Remove the Minimize option altogether from the Right-Click menu.

In the old location I start ctrl clicking (more...)

In Windows XP the files disappear too, but the new selection of files is maintained.

Shuffle starts always first song from playlist [Windows Media Player 12]

Submitted by MyVoice on December 14, 2009 to Annoyance, Bug, Usability

When selecting a playlist from the library to play and shuffle is selected, the player always starts playing the first song in the list. Only the second and further songs are randomly selected from the list.

Play a randomly selected song from the list - also for the first song played.

Explorer items jump all over the place when clicked after Active Title Bar size set to 17

Submitted by dsmtoday on September 13, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Bug, Usability

This one is a little obscure, but totally repeatable. At first I thought this was a serious bug with explorer items jumping all over the place when clicking them, but I figured out the issue is caused by setting the Active Title Bar size to the bare (more...)

Either the icons can't be allows to inflate the width of the Explorer menu strip, or the minimum Active Title Bar size needs to be reset to 18. Set at 18, the problem has vanished. Most likely, there is a very deep issue involved in calculating (more...)

If you remove the "Users" folder from Indexing Options, and then open, say, your Documents Library and search for something, you will get nothing at all. It wont even bother searching the non indexed items.

However, if I go to (more...)

"Overlays" dont work on small taskbar

Submitted by indrora on August 3, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Bug, Icons, Usability

Windows 7 taskbar icons can have little overlays to convey information (such as "I'm refreshing data, thats why there's a progress bar") but that contextual information is *gone* as soon as you either disable grouping or you make the (more...)

Keep that contextual information either by scaling the overlay icon or placing it in some way as to keep that contexual information there. When you have labels enabled, put the overlay icon after the label.

Empty drives are shown when option all folders is enabled

Submitted by pyrates on August 1, 2009 to Annoyance, Bug

Please do not allow "show all folders" to over-ride the option "hide empty drives in the computer folder". I was really looking forward to using this feature, now I can't use it.

[7100x64] Searching the Control Panel has two little UI slips

Submitted by gdvlive on July 12, 2009 to Aesthetics, Bug

If you're searching in the control panel and don't find anything you get a white page with "No items match your search.". Under this text there's a white line that is as wide as the complete window. But it stops getting wider (more...)

1. Adjust the line's width always to the window's maximum - padding.
2. (More) spacing between the "Help" image and the "Search Windows Help and Support for ..."

(PS as always: Sorry for bad English (more...)

Submitted by sfsdfd on June 28, 2009 to Annoyance, Bug, Usability

The improved ability to control the notification area is great, guys. I really like it.

However, there's a small bug here: changing the option for "Windows Explorer - Bluetooth Devices" automatically changes the option for (more...)

Media player stops responding if you click on a homegroup and it is not available

Submitted by PAPutzback on June 3, 2009 to Bug

If I am in WMP and I select music on a homegroup share WMP locks up and stops responding.

There should be a service just like the one that tells you when you can't connect to a mapped network share that handles homegroups also.

FYI. Anything that cuases an app to stop responding should be Sever, right?

Submitted by nyp on May 7, 2009 to Annoyance, Bug

When you get a notification, increase the screen resolution. The problem? The notification's position didn't get updated and it appears floating in mid-air.

Update the notification's position when changing the screen resolution.
