Due to the stupidity of Long (that's me), all comments on the Windows 7 Taskforce after March has been lost.
As a result of this unfortunate event, a transition to a new backend (the one powering heresanidea.net) is being considered.

By default, make the language tone of Microsoft Office less patronizing

Submitted by bbchater2k10 on March 12, 2010 to Annoyance, Legacy, Usability

Lets face it: I have been using Microsoft Office ever since the 95 edition, and I can tell you one thing; the language tone of the whole thing is way too patronizing. I was bitterly disappointed when Office 2007 was released and when I tested out Office (more...)

Cut out the patronizing language tone for all future versions of Microsoft Office.

Make excel easier to use

Submitted by mooky on March 11, 2010 to Annoyance, Bug, Usability

I work in a lot of spreadsheets with multiple worksheets within them. I'd like an alt-tab function so that I can flick between the worksheets easily instead of going to all the terrible effort of using my mouse to select the correct one.

Create an alt-tab-like system!

When an autostarted program is active after you inserted a CD with Autoplay, and then you eject the CD without ending the program and then try to end/continue program the error notification pops up, telling you (correctly) that the CD i s missing.

Make the dialog supreme and if I click Cancel that means the CD is not there so end the program.

Screw you Microsoft for purposely imposing so many 'system limitations'!

Submitted by formula_86 on March 6, 2010 to Annoyance, Bug, Legacy, Usability

Whenever I try and do a certain thing in a Microsoft product and it brings up an error saying it can't do it due to a 'system limitation', it REALLY pisses me off so much I pull my hair out in chunks! Why? Because it beats me why Microsoft (more...)

Where 'is' the proposed apology to me Long Zheng?

Submitted by bbchater2k10 on March 5, 2010 to Annoyance, Website suggestions

Long Zheng: you just don't seem to care about my gripes with Windows 7 I share do you? Everything I posted got censored. How ungrateful can one really get? All I am trying to do is help make things a bit better.

If you have any kindness in you left, please send me an apology email to this address: kizab@hotmail.co.uk and I will be happy again.

include a "always allow this program" checkbox in user account control pop-up..

Submitted by liquid23au on March 5, 2010 to Annoyance, Usability

this suggestion is in regards to the popup that appears under certain user account control settings which asks: " Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?"

the user account control user account (more...)

i would include a checkbox to "always allow program" in the popup which would easily solve the problem, as well as a white/ black list in the user account settings.

This way trusted programs will not require the sort of multiple (more...)

Add an 'are you sure' page when deleting your submissions

Submitted by formula_86 on March 3, 2010 to Annoyance, Website suggestions

When deleting a submission you don't want anymore, it doesn't bring up a confirmation page asking if you are sure you want to delete this submission.

Have it so that you are asked if you are sure you want to delete your submission.

Calculator comma

Submitted by Fikusas on March 3, 2010 to Annoyance, Usability

Windows calculator has a comma instead of dot. Comma splits different numbers not a part of a number. Dot is official spacer in mathematics. It's very annoying when you paste number (for example 5.25) into calculator and it doesn't understand (more...)

Replace comma with dot.

Stop the "Safely remove hardware" icon from jumping around.

Submitted by xombie on February 27, 2010 to Annoyance, Usability

Try this if you have more than one removable device.

Plug them in. Now move the remove hardware icon to any position except the leftmost.

Click on it and remove one device. The icon will jump to the left to show a notification. (more...)

Don't make it change position just to show a notification.

Hover effect NOT disappearing

Submitted by DBS on February 24, 2010 to Aesthetics, Annoyance

Recently, when hovering on top of an open or closed program in the taskbar, i see the hovering, but when the mouse moves away form the icon, AND the taskbar, the hover effect stays there as if the mouse was still on top of the icon.

I would like this to get fixed, i don't know if it does have something to do with the .dll's??..maybe i screwd up some of them by installing not-totally compatible software for windows 7.
